Part1. Verbs of motion with the prefix “по-“, tenses

Tiền tốпо- can be added to all verbs of motion. The resulting verbs are perfective in aspect và thus can only be used in the Past và Future Tenses.

Part2. “по-” + + verbs from the “идти” group - meanings
Verbs from the идти group with the prefix по- can have the following meanings:
- Absolute beginning of motion, direction hoặc purpose not specified (the motion comes after a static condition).
- Beginning of a new stage of motion (there has already been some motion before).
- Action as intention, desire hoặc a supposition—in the Thì tương lai.

Verbs from the ходить group with the prefix по- can have the following meanings:
- The action lasted a short while.
- The action is not very significant.

Ghi nhớ
Verbs of motion with prefixes have one peculiarity: the Thì hiện tại usually requires a verb from the “ходить” group, mộts they show that the action is taking place right now. Verbs from the “идти” group are used in the Thì quá khứ in the meaning of a hoàn thành action hoặc in the Thì tương lai in the meaning of potential result.
Ты говоришь, что много видел. А уж я-то поездил по миру
больше, чем ты.
